FBI Agents Association Charity Golf Classic

On Friday, July 16, 2021, the Milwaukee Chapter of the FBI Agents Association will play host to the Milwaukee Charity Golf Classic tournament at the Western Lakes Golf Club, W287N1963 Oakton Road in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

Our tournament will benefit the FBI Agents Association Memorial College Education Fund (Federal Tax ID# 13-3351127).  The Children’s Education Fund was created in 1985 to memorialize the deaths of five FBI agents killed in the line of duty and to provide assistance to their children.  Donations to this educational fund have come from a variety of sources to include government employees, citizens and private corporations.  The donations are recognized in the FBI AGENT newsletter.

The original purpose of the educational fund was to provide interest-free college loans to children of deceased FBI Agents.  The fund now bestows college scholarships instead of loans to these children.  The trust terms include natural children, step-children and legally adopted children of FBI Agents who died while still employed or within one year of retirement.  In addition, spouses of deceased Agents are also eligible for these scholarships.

Since the inception of the fund, more than 256 children have received over $8.7 million in college scholarship money.  Recipients may attend any college, public or private, throughout the world.  During the 2019-2020 academic year over $655,000 was dispersed with the average student receiving $20,540 per year.  During the past four tournaments, FBI Milwaukee has donated over $20,000 to the fund.  Currently, there are 60 children eligible for the fund but not yet in college.

Since the 09/11/2001 terrorist attacks, it has been documented that over 10,000 first responders affiliated with this event have been diagnosed with cancer and over 2,000 deaths have been attributed to 911 related illnesses.

The rate of cancer in this group is 30% higher than the general population.  As of August 2018, the FBI has reported 16 deaths from cancer linked to toxic exposure from the 911 response efforts.  As a result, more children have become eligible for scholarship support.

In order to support this endeavor we are seeking individual and corporate donations or items for our raffle; or sponsoring the following: a golf hole, the turn, a drink cart or the entire tournament.  Please note on the attachment to this letter the various sponsorship and donation opportunities.  Your gifts are fully tax deductible and support a worthy cause.  A copy of the IRS Determination Letter recognizing the tax exempt status of the FBI Agents Association in accordance with section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is available upon request.

On behalf of the Milwaukee Chapter of the FBI Agent's Association, we would like to thank you for considering a donation or sponsorship for the 2021 golf tournament.  In addition, please consider playing in the tournament.

If you prefer to make a donation without additional information, the donation may be sent to: FBI Milwaukee, C/O SA Sickler, 3600 South Lake Drive, St. Francis, WI, 53235.
